A unique space surrounded by nature, history and wellbeing

Millions of years ago, the centre of Catalonia was covered by a sea that gradually disappeared, giving rise to a diapir. The Cardona diapir is the most spectacular in Europe. "A great mountain of pure salt that is born as it is extracted". This is how Cató, in the 2nd century, described one of the most important potassium salt mines in the world.

Salt mining is Cardona's raison d'être and the foundation of its prosperous past. Its castle, the fortress that has never been defeated and the last bastion of Catalan independence, was the seat of the powerful dynasty of the "Kings without a crown". Around the salt and the strategic crossroads, a medieval town grew, with a historic centre that has since been declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest.

We want to offer visitors a new model that is more in tune with the local environment. A place of holistic well-being, a driving force for change that respects the environment by adhering to a circular economy, local gastronomy and seasonal products.

Discover the DO Pla de Bages Wine Route set within the UNESCO World Geopark of Central Catalonia, a unique wine-growing heritage site. You can also enjoy great olive oil tourism experiences, from olive oil tastings and visits to olive groves to cross-country tours in off-road vehicles. This is a long-standing tradition in Bages, which, together with the revival of autochthonous varieties such as Corbella, produces an excellent quality oil with very beneficial health properties.
