The Meeting Centre of Central Catalonia is presented in El Vilar de la Duquessa, Cardona
02 Apr 2025

The private initiative aims to promote the economic and social development of Bages, Berguedà and Solsonès and has broad institutional support.

Last Tuesday, 2nd April, El Vilar de la Duquesa was the setting for the official presentation of the Central Catalonia Meetings Centre, a private initiative aimed at boosting the economic and social development of the territory, with special attention to the MICE sector (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions/Events) in the counties of Berguedà, Solsonès and Bages.

During his speech, the mayor of Cardona stressed the importance of this initiative for the economic dynamism of the region. ‘Public-private collaboration is the key to the development of the region’, he said.

During the presentation, the main objectives of the Meeting Centre and its strategic lines to promote key sectors such as the automotive industry, congresses, cycle tourism and screen tourism were presented.

After the official ceremony, El Vilar de la Duquesa held an Open Day and a Workshop for professionals until 15:30. The day offered a unique opportunity for networking and discovering new spaces, with activities such as:

  • Guided tour of the Vilar de la Duquesa facilities to show the versatility.
  • Visit to the Valentí Fuster Auditorium, an ideal space for cultural and corporate events.
  • Tasting of local products and gastronomic novelties.

With this initiative, El Vilar de la Duquesa consolidates its position as a new benchmark in the organisation of meetings and events in Central Catalonia, contributing to the growth and projection of the territory in the field of business and congress tourism.
